This template is maintained by Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga. It is designed to handle anime, manga, their associated films, OVAs, and other related media, in a single modular infobox.

Usage

This infobox is constructed by sandwiching one or more components between a header and a footer. For consistency, it is recommended that components be sorted by release date.

Unless otherwise noted, fields should reflect original Japanese dates and editions, as multiple countries/languages lead to clutter.

For consistency, the infobox should remain within the scope of its host article. If, for example, separate pages exist for an anime and its associated film, the film component should not appear on the anime page, and vice versa. The "Other" component may be used to provide links to such closely related works. Similarly, if an article's primary topic is not an anime or manga series, and such series do not receive more than an incidental mention, the article should use the infobox designed for the media type of its focus (e.g. articles on novels and novel series should use {{Infobox Book}}, articles on films should use {{Infobox film}}, etc.).

The title parameter in each component is optional, and should be used when the title of the specific anime/manga/etc. differs from the name parameter in the header or (if none is given) the article's title.

Parameter	Description
name	Insert the full common name of the work (defaults to {{PAGENAMEBASE}} if empty).
image	Insert the relevant image for the work, which should be a film poster, a DVD/VHS cover, screenshot, or another related image. Only use the actual file name, such as |image=One Piece, Volume 61 Cover (Japanese).jpg.
caption	Insert image caption, which should describe the type of image used.
ja_kanji	Insert the title as written in Japan (any mix of kanji, kana, or the Latin alphabet).
ja_romaji	Insert the Hepburn romanization of the Japanese language title. Leave this blank if it would be the same as the name parameter.
genre	Insert the genre(s) to which the work belongs. Use more specific genres over general genres (ex. Mecha is a subgenre of Science fiction, therefore only Mecha should be listed instead of both). Genres should be based on what reliable sources list them and not on personal interpretations. If a genre cannot be cited to a reliable source, then it should not be listed.
creator	Insert the name(s) of the work's creator(s). In the case of adaptations or derivative works, this may include creators who were not directly involved but are credited for their indirect contribution by virtue of having created the original work upon which the series may be based.

Parameters

Parameter	Explanation
type	Enter one of the following: novel for a single novel, serial novel for a novel series, light novel for a light novel or light novel series, film comic for film comics, mook for a "magazine book", or other. Leave blank for manga.
title	Title of the work, if different from the name field in header.
author	Insert the name(s) of the author(s) of the work. Separate multiple entries using either {{plainlist}} or {{ubl}}. Link each author to their article if possible.
illustrator	Insert the name(s) of the illustrator(s) of the work, if different from the work's author. Separate multiple entries using either {{plainlist}} or {{ubl}}. Link each illustrator to their article if possible.
publisher	Insert the name(s) of the Japanese publisher(s) of the work. Separate multiple entries using either {{plainlist}} or {{ubl}}. Link each publisher to their article if possible.
publisher_en	Insert the name of any English language publisher(s) of the work. See {{English manga publisher}}
demographic	Target demographic of the work. (ex. Children, Shōjo, Shōnen, Seinen, Josei, Salaryman, or General Interest). This is established by the Japanese magazine in which the work was originally published.
imprint	Insert the name(s) of the publisher's label(s) or imprint(s) the work was released under. Separate multiple entries using either {{plainlist}} or {{ubl}}. Link each label to their article if possible.
magazine	Insert the name(s) of the magazine(s) or anthology in which the work was serialized in. Separate multiple entries using either {{plainlist}} or {{ubl}}. Link each magazine to their article if possible.
magazine_en	Insert the name(s) of any English language magazine(s) or anthologies in which the work was serialized in. See {{English manga magazine}}
published	Insert the date(s) the work first premiered. This should be used for single releases. Use {{Start date}} (e.g. {{Start date|1981|2|26}}) so that the date is included in the template's hCalendar microformat, and is properly formatted according to a reader's Wikipedia date and time preferences.
first	Insert the most relevant date(s) the first chapter (preferably) or volume of the work was originally published. Include month and year at a minimum. Use {{Start date}} (e.g. {{Start date|1981|2|26}}) so that the date is included in the template's hCalendar microformat, and is properly formatted according to a reader's Wikipedia date and time preferences.
last	Insert the most relevant date(s) the last chapter (preferably) or volume of the work was originally published. Include month and year at a minimum. Leave empty if the work is ongoing. Use {{End date}} if the show is ended. Only insert the last date after it has happened.
volumes	Insert the number of volume(s).
volume_list	Links the number of volumes or chapters to the respective "List of" page.

If the information is available, please specify using WP:NOTES what exactly named contributors are credited for in the official episode/film/series credits (often on the work's official website or in the end credits roll(s) of the work), as there is typically no singular "directed/produced/written by" credit such as in the American film industries, but instead a wider variety of credits for specific writing, direction, and production duties, which are not used uniformly and universally. network	Insert the name(s) of the Japanese television networks that first aired the series. Only list the networks where the series had its first run. Link each network to their article if possible.
network_en	Insert the name(s) of the English television networks the series aired on. Only list the networks where the English-dubbed version of the series had its first run. released	Insert the most relevant date(s) the work was first released in Japan. This should be used for one-off programs such as films, and specials or for shows that released all of their episodes at the same time. Use {{Start date}} (e.g. {{Start date|1981|2|26}}) so that the date is included in the template's hCalendar microformat, and is properly formatted according to a reader's Wikipedia date and time preferences. Use {{Film date}} for films.
first	Insert the date(s) the series first aired on its original Japanese network. Use the actual date the first episode aired instead of "media dates" like June 1, 2000 @ 25:00. Use {{Start date}} (e.g. {{Start date|1981|2|26}}) so that the date is included in the template's hCalendar microformat, and is properly formatted according to a reader's Wikipedia date and time preferences.
last	Insert the date(s) the series last aired on its original Japanese network. Leave empty if the series is ongoing or renewed. Use the actual date the episode aired instead of "media dates" like June 1, 2000 @ 25:00. Use {{End date}} if the show is ended. Only insert the last episode's date after it has happened.
episodes	Insert the number of episodes released. This parameter should only be incremented when new episodes or specials air, or when a reliable source confirms a specific number of episodes.
episode_list	Insert link(s) to the number of episodes to the respective "List of" episode article.
runtime	Insert an approximate time duration of the episode in minutes. If the running time is given to the second, round it to the minute (and do not link to "minute").
budget	Insert the approximate production budget of the work.
gross	Insert the worldwide gross revenue accrued by the work for its run. If worldwide gross is not available, then indicate which region has grossed that amount. Use condensed, rounded values ($22.4 million vs $22,392,684).
